MentorLink is a facilitated mentoring program for occcupational therapists working in both the public and private sectors throughout Australia.
The Mentorlink program aims to:
- provide practitioners with peer support tailored to their professional development and performance needs
- improve job satisfaction
- build mentoring skills within the occupational therapy profession.
We welcome occupational therapists with more than 5-6 years’ experience working as an OT. Mentors do not have to be members of Occupational Therapy Australia; their participation is on an honorary basis.
Registering as a mentor is easy. Simply visit the MentorLink website and sign up with your details. Non-member mentors should contact us for a guest log in. Please complete the Mentor Self-Assessment Evaluation and provide a short biography of your experience.
Mentoring is a free member benefit provided by Occupational Therapy Australia. Mentees must be current financial members of the Association. We recommend mentees have been working as an occupational therapist for around 3 months before seeking a mentor so they can determine the clinical areas they would like support in and what professional development opportunities and support is provided by their employer.
If you are a student member or you are waiting for a qualification review, we will ask you to wait until you are a full member before seeking a mentor.
Most partnerships are conducted via phone, email or Skype. We have mentors in all States and Territories so many matches have interstate participants. If you prefer face-to-face mentoring, please let us know.
Due to the high demand for mentors, most partnerships are facilitated by the National MentorLink Co-ordinator. If you don’t find a suitable mentor currently available on the website, please send an email to email@example.com. Briefly describe your current work situation and what you are looking for in a mentor. You will be contacted as soon possible.
