Transforming Dementia Care with Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care

Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop delivering Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care – a transformative, evidence-based method that empowers Occupational Therapists with practical, person-centred strategies to better support people living with dementia.

Program Overview

Are you ready to transform how you work with people living with dementia?
This is your exclusive opportunity to experience the Positive Approach to Care (PAC) — the groundbreaking, evidence-based dementia care methodology developed by world-renowned Occupational Therapist and Dementia Specialist, Teepa Snow.
As one of the few credentialed providers of PAC training in Australia, we are excited to be partnering with Thrive Aged Care to offer this immersive, hands-on workshop designed specifically for Occupational Therapists who are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of people living with dementia.
This training isn’t just another dementia seminar — it’s a powerful, practice-changing experience. You’ll walk away with concrete skills that go far beyond theory, learning how to truly connect with and support people living with dementia using strengths-based, respectful, and highly effective approaches.

By attending this workshop, you will:

  • Understand the neurophysiological changes in the brain caused by dementia and how these affect perception, communication, and behaviour.

  • Learn how to recognise retained abilities and strengths in people living with dementia and adjust your approach to maximise connection and function.

  • Practice and apply PAC techniques that reduce resistance and distress during key daily activities including personal care, meals, transfers, and recreation.

  • Gain confidence in using communication strategies that minimise responsive behaviours such as wandering, exit-seeking, and agitation.

  • Experience PAC’s hands-on, experiential learning methods that ensure you leave with practical skills ready to use in your clinical setting.

Why Attend?

This workshop provides you with the opportunity to be trained in Teepa Snow’s renowned Positive Approach to Care and change the way you support people living with dementia.

  • Change your practice: PAC will shift your perspective from managing behaviours to building trust, engagement, and connection.

  • Empower your team: Equip yourself and your colleagues with proven, effective tools to handle even the most challenging dementia care scenarios.

  • Enhance outcomes: Reduce distress, improve cooperation, and create more meaningful moments in care.

  • Lead with person-centred care: Gain the skills and confidence to support people living with dementia in ways that are respectful, empowering, and compassionate

Whether you work in the community, aged care, rehabilitation, or acute settings — this training will enhance your effectiveness and provide you with techniques you can use immediately.
