Already confident with the basics of generative AI? Ready to take it to the next level?
This interactive, high-level workshop is designed specifically for occupational therapists who are ready to move beyond prompt-writing and into advanced, practical uses of AI in their work. Whether you’ve completed our beginner and intermediate workshops or have been exploring AI independently, this session is for those who already grasp the ethical, privacy, and safety considerations and are ready to explore AI’s full potential.
What to expect:
We’ll explore cutting-edge AI tools and applications that can transform the way you learn, create, and deliver services. You’ll discover how to:

Use AI to create alternative and accessible learning materials, such as educational podcasts, study plans, and custom research reports

Run an offline Large Language Model (LLM) for complete data privacy and secure client-sensitive work

Use screen-aware AI assistants to guide your task performance in real-time

Create small programs and highly customised content like social stories using platforms like Google Gems, Claude Code, Google AI Studio, or Windsurf

Convert handwriting to text instantly and repurpose information effortlessly across formats

Apply practical fact-checking strategies to verify AI-generated outputs

Experiment with AI agents that can plan, reason, and automate tasks on your behalf
This session is ideal for those who want to explore what’s next in AI, whether for client-facing work, education, research, or business tasks. It's also your chance to connect with other forward-thinking OTs exploring how AI is reshaping our profession.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Please note: This is NOT a beginner session. Participants should have a working knowledge of generative AI and familiarity with its risks and ethical implications.

Jess Francis
Jess has over 12 years occupational therapy experience across a range of private sectors as a clinician and in senior leadership roles and recently completed postgraduate research exploring the use of virtual reality. Jess has been a member of the NSW Divisional Council for over 6 years.

Will Crowe
With a significant interest in the intersection between technology and activity participation, Will is an OT whose dominant area of practice involves the prescription of assistive and inclusive technological equipment to assist his clients attain their goals. His area of professional passion lies in facilitating accessible video game engagement with clients living with a range of physical and cognitive disabilities. Will has worked largely in private practice and for not-for-profit organisations as well as lecturing part-time at Flinders University and is an OTA Divisional Council member for SA. Will believes that the rapidly growing potential applications for AI are something to be embraced, with appropriate considerations. It is technology that has the potential to revolutionise not just occupational therapy practice but also the way in which people participate in their everyday lives
