OVERVIEW
The Quality Improvement interest group and Research aims to connect and support Occupational Therapists across Australia with an interest in quality improvement studies or working in research.
The primary objectives are:
- To foster peer support amongst OTA members with an interest in quality improvement and/or research.
- To provide a forum for OTA members to learn about and discuss methods for confuctin ghigh-quality research and quality improvement projects.
- To promote engagement in quality improvement and research activities within the occupational therapy profession.

Rachel Houweling
Presenter (Occupational Therapist)
Rachel qualified as an OT in the UK in the 1990s and worked in the UK and Australia before undertaking a PhD which she completed in 2023. Rachel now works as a postdoctoral researcher, exploring support for children, adolescents and young adults with cancer - and their families. Having worked as an OT, an OT lecturer, and now working in research - Rachel is keen to connect with others who are passionate about supporting OT-focused quality improvement and research projects.
