Presenter
Having a father as a vet, I led a life embracing animals and therefore developed a deep passion for horses. From a young age I attended a local riding school, engaged in Pony Club activities and from teenage years, I volunteered at a local branch of Riding for the Disabled (RDA). Horses too, provided me with a platform to compete nationally and internationally as a junior elite athlete, representing Great Britain at Junior European Equestrian Vaulting Championships. Volunteering with RDA sparked my interest and desire to study Occupational Therapy before I completed my Honours project in 2020, a critical review of Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) on the mental health of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since moving to Australia in 2022, I have been practicing in paediatrics with opportunities to incorporate Equine Assisted Occupational Therapy (EAOT) within my clinical practice. This has compelled me to seek advanced academic training to further my professional development. Presently, I am studying an Advancing Practice PG Certification in Equine Facilitated Therapy through Ulster University, Belfast.
