Guidelines help make sense of the evidence - How the Australian Fall Prevention Guidelines research has been translated into an easy-to-use tool to make a multifactorial approach to falls prevention care easier, for Occupational Therapists and other Health Professionals in Community care.
-
The Medication Module - Understand how development of the Medication Assessment Tool enables better ways of identifying Falls Risk Increasing Drugs (FRIDs) with Joseph Biddle, Pharmacist expert.
-
Concern Around Falling - Understanding the psychological impact of falls and how confidence influences recovery, independence and quality of life with Jennifer Jones, Clinical Psychologist and concern around falling expert.
-
Working with the Experts - Hear from our panel of experts about their experience of being a part of the creation of the tool, and how their work with falls prevention has shaped their approach.

He has published over 600 papers in the areas of instability, falls and fractures in older people and clinical groups with balance impairment. His research follows two main themes: the identification of neuropsychological, sensorimotor and balance risk factors for falls and the development and evaluation of fall prevention strategies. His current projects include the development of digital gait biomarkers, reactive step training and cognitive-motor interventions to prevent falls and studies addressing fall risk in people with stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and cognitive impairment. He is also actively engaged in initiatives aimed at implementing fall prevention evidence into policy and practice. In December 2019, Stephen was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the President of the British Geriatrics Society in recognition for his contribution to falls research.
