Australian Occupational Therapy Journal - Call for Editorial Board Members

The Australian Occupational Therapy Journal (AOTJ), the official research publication of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA), invites expressions of interest from OTA members for positions on its Editorial Board. The journal publishes high quality empirical research, theoretical contributions and scholarly commentary that shape occupational therapy practice and policy.

Role Overview

Editorial Board members support the Editor in Chief in guiding the journal’s strategic direction and ensuring the quality and impact of its publications. Members work collaboratively with Occupational Therapy Australia and the Publisher to strengthen the journal’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide input on editorial policy and journal development
  • Monitor journal operations and recommend improvements
  • Investigate issues arising through quality assurance processes
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Promote the journal across professional networks
  • Provide quality peer review support to Associate Editors

Appointments are for a standard three-year term.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Experience in research, peer review or academic publishing
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to evidence informed practice
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work in teams
  • Membership with OTA

Commitment:

Attendance at 8 online Board meetings including annual one day face-to-face meeting held in Melbourne (cost funded).

Preparedness to regularly peer review manuscripts (up to 2 per month).
