Call for Committee Members

The World Federation of Occupational Therapists – Program Accreditation Committee (WFOT-PAC) is an ongoing subcommittee of the Occupational Therapy Australia Board and is primarily responsible for recommending the WFOT approval status of education programs for the Board’s endorsement.

Role Overview

Committee members review accreditation reports from the Occupational Therapy Council (OTC) and determine if the program meets the standards for approval required by the WFOT. The committee support the work of the OTC so it maintains a high-quality accreditation function that will continue to meet OTA’s needs and the WFOT standards. The committee consists of seven members. Term of office is four years with a maximum of 8 years ie two terms.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Understanding of the WFOT Minimum Standards for the Education of Occupational Therapists
  • Understanding of the WFOT Guiding Principles for competencies
  • Experience in accreditation processes and/or understanding of the WFOT Approvals Process
  • Demonstrated academic leadership
  • OTA Member

Commitment

Attendance at approximately 5 online meetings per year. Review of approximately 3 or 4 accreditation reports per year. Each accreditation may take between 2 and 3 hours.
