World Mental Health Day 2025 – Connect with Your Community

Published: Tuesday 7 October 2025

On 10 October 2025, we join with communities around the globe to recognise World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme, “Connect with your community,” highlights the power of relationships, networks, and local support in promoting wellbeing.

Occupational therapists play a vital role in mental health–supporting people to engage in meaningful activities, build resilience, and stay connected. From community services to specialist programs, OTs bring a unique focus on participation and recovery.

At OTA, we are proud to back this work with a range of mental health resources and programs:

We are also proud members of Mental Health Australia, working alongside national partners to advocate for better mental health outcomes.

Our National Mental Health Interest Group connects OTA members across the country, providing networking, education, and shared learning. In addition, our National Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Interest Group focuses on the unique challenges faced by families during preconception, pregnancy, early parenting, and the first three years of life.

On World Mental Health Day, OTA celebrates the impact of occupational therapists in this space–and their ongoing commitment to helping people connect, recover, and thrive.
