Are you an experienced director looking to make an impact and influence the strategic direction for your professional association?
We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals to contribute their governance skills and expertise as a valued Board Director.
We are also seeking nominations for the WFOT Delegate position, who will commence on the Board at AGM 2028.
About the positions
The Board of Directors plays a vital role in ensuring the organisation remains mission-focused, well-governed, and sustainable. Directors are guardians of purpose, providing strategic oversight and ensuring accountability, without becoming involved in day-to-day operations. The Board is responsible for setting strategic direction, ensuring good governance and compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical standards, financial oversight, and risk management. Directors hold the broad purpose of Occupational Therapy Australia in mind and do not represent interest groups or personal agendas. In line with the Constitution, the appointment is a three-year term with a maximum of 3 terms.

The WFOT Delegate plays a pivotal role representing OTA in the global occupational therapy community. Commencing as 1st Alternate delegate, then to the WFOT Delegate and then as the 2nd Alternate Delegate, this position is a 9-year term. Nominations can be submitted via here by 5.00pm (AEST) Wednesday 30 July. Applicants are encouraged to prepare all their documents prior to commencing the process. Late applications will not be accepted.
The following information will be provided to members for ballot processes.
- Biography (no more than 150 words)
- Passion for OTA Purpose Statement (no more than 150 words)
- 90 second video outlining qualifications and governance experience, contribution of leadership and passion for OTA purpose
- A high-resolution portrait photo (headshot)

Applicants will be kept informed of the outcomes of the process. New Directors and 1st Alternate WFOT Delegate will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 20 November 2025.
