This guide is designed to support Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) members in preparing for one-on-one meetings with their local federal election candidates. It provides practical advice on how to prepare, conduct, and follow up after a meeting to effectively advocate for the occupational therapy profession ahead of the 2025 federal election.
By working together, we can strengthen our collective voice and ensure that the needs of the profession and those we support are clearly heard. Using consistent messaging across all advocacy efforts helps amplify our impact and demonstrates a united front in addressing the issues facing the profession and the people we support.
This guide is intended to be used alongside OTA’s Federal Election Statement and OTA’s Federal Election Playbook to maintain a cohesive and strategic approach to advocacy.
